It is so important to get a. solid personal understanding of all of your students in your classes. I had the advantage of working with some of my students for multiple years, so I knew them and their families well. I am active in the school and would wander in out of kids' classes throughout the day and I attend their activities. I felt like they all knew that my classroom was a totally "safe" zone for them. I worked with special education students so it was was especially important for me to realize their strengths and weaknesses and build upon their strengths while helping them work on their weaknesses.

This course gave me an opportunity to think about some basic classroom ideas that I had forgotten in the "busyness" of teaching. It will definitely help me to better prepare for next year!
