This course focuses on the need for educators to teach academic language as well as content. Teachers must ensure that English Language Learners(ELLs) have access to grade-level and challenging content within a standards-based framework. They must also implement strategies that help ELLs access this content.

In this course, you will learn about the potential implications for a College and Career-Ready, standards-based curriculum on ELLs’ learning and achievement. You will have the opportunity to analyze the academic language demands of standards-based lessons. Lastly, you will implement strategies to support ELL learning and achievement within a standards-based curriculum framework.
