Description
This professional development (PD) training guide is designed for educators, support staff, and specialists who work with students experiencing language delays or differences.
During the course, learners focus on practical tools, strategies, and resources to build communication-rich environments, incorporate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, and create inclusive classrooms where all voices are valued and respected.
The training includes interactive activities, modeling, and action planning to ensure participants leave with steps they can implement immediately.
Objectives
After taking this course, the educator will be able to:
- create communication-rich environments for students with language delays or differences.
- demonstrate understanding of core language boards and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems,
- apply neurodiversity-affirming AAC best practices in real classroom scenarios, and
- create a goal for supporting classroom communication.
