Description
Every classroom includes students with different learning needs, and effective teaching means providing support that helps all learners access instruction. Accommodations and modifications are two important tools for removing barriers, but they serve different purposes.
In this course, you'll learn the key differences between them and how to use each appropriately in the classroom.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to implement appropriate supports that remove barriers to learning while maintaining student dignity, equitable access, and alignment with educational expectations.
- Distinguish between accommodations and modifications,
- identify examples of each,
- determine appropriate supports based on student needs,
- and apply strategies that promote access, inclusion, and meaningful participation.
