Description

In this online blended‑learning course, educators explore the foundations of trauma-informed pedagogy and learn how to design healing-centered learning environments for all students. By examining how trauma affects the brain, behavior, and learning, participants gain practical strategies for supporting students through Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions. By the end of the course, educators will be equipped to cultivate a school community where students who have experienced trauma feel safe, connected, and empowered to learn, achieve, and heal.

Objectives

  • Define trauma and identify common types and sources of traumatic experiences
  • Explain how trauma impacts the developing brain and influences student behavior and learning
  • Apply Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 trauma-informed interventions to support student well-being
