Description
Classroom Strategies for Addressing LGBTQ+ Bias
In this 15‑hour NEA Blended Learning facilitated course, educators will examine how unconscious bias shapes classroom interactions, curriculum choices, and school climate—particularly as it affects LGBTQ+ students and those who are both LGBTQ+ and BIPOC. Participants will explore practical, research‑informed strategies to recognize and interrupt anti‑LGBTQ+ bias, strengthen inclusive teaching practices, and build learning environments where every student feels seen, valued, and safe.
Grounded in the core principles of anti‑bias and antiracist education, this course guides educators through self‑reflection, collaborative learning, and hands‑on application. By the end, participants will develop actionable plans to ensure their curriculum, instructional materials, and pedagogical approaches reflect and affirm the diversity of their students.
