Recognizing the critical importance of mental health for both students and educators, this course explores school-based strategies and approaches that support mental well-being. Participants will deepen their understanding of mental health, examine the factors that influence wellbeing, and learn practical tools to promote positive mental health practices for students and themselves as educators.

Objectives

  • Review evidence-based research related to educator wellbeing
  • Distinguish between stress and toxic stress, and explain the significance of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Increase awareness of common mental health triggers in educational settings
  • Identify and apply effective coping strategies to support mental well-being
  • Explore the relationship between health, hormones, and mental health
