TRAUMA-INFORMED PEDAGOGY
Race-Based Trauma
Our students should be aware that the accumulation of inherited racial trauma, such as implicit bias or racism, can affect young people’s ability to learn, make responsible decisions, or maintain healthy relationships. It is imperative to recognize the effects of racial trauma to restore equity and well-being. This 15-Hour NEA Blended Learning facilitated course will discuss race-based trauma, its causes, and effects, and offer educators research-based tools to address it. This information will also help educators create healing-centered environments for all students.
