Helping all children learn is our goal as educators, including learners who may be experiencing refugee trauma. In this 15-Hour NEA Blended Learning facilitated course, educators will learn to identify the causes and impact of refugee trauma on students and design a healing-centered learning environment to support students who have experienced refugee trauma.

  • Explain how refugees are placed in the U.S. and the support families receive from local, state, and federal agencies
  • Define refugee trauma and its impact on student learning
  • Outline key actions that create a welcoming, healing-centered learning environment for students who are refugees
