Description
This course is for anyone building, leading, or facilitating teams and for those who hope to build the capacity of others to do so. This is for instructional coaches, professional learning community facilitators, grade-level leads, data team coaches, department heads, committee leads, and anyone else in a formal leadership position.
This course could be considered the companion to the Introduction to Coaching Course, since it expands on many of the approaches described for working one-on-one with another educator; for this reason, it is determined as a prerequisite before diving into the Leadership Developing Course.
Objectives
In this course, you will:
- analyze and implement tools and strategies to articulate a team’s purpose, their vision and mission, and goal setting; explore who we are as leaders and who we want to be as leaders; create a culture of trust; and explore the importance of a leader’s Emotional Intelligence (EI)
- examine strategies and resources that affect team development; identify the steps for establishing optimal conditions during difficult situations; foster effective team communication; successfully make collaborative decisions; and cultivate healthy conflict on a team
- investigate approaches and resources to create team norms and agreements, group roles, and meeting agendas
- critique and design strategies to assess team effectiveness and provide feedback
- curate course content and resources to create a coaching binder intended to be used with teams
